Contact

The best way to reach us is by email: editors@insectsexplained.com.

We read every message. We can help with:

• Corrections to anything on the site (see our corrections policy)
• Suggestions for insects, pests or topics we should cover
• Permission requests for using our illustrations in classrooms or publications

About identification requests

We are a small publication and cannot identify individual insects from photos. For a reliable identification, contact your county extension office, which can examine a specimen. Our identification finder and guides can help you narrow it down first.

Urgent situations

If someone is having a severe reaction to a sting or bite, such as trouble breathing or swelling of the face or throat, call 911. For questions about a pesticide exposure, call Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222.
