Corrections Policy

We want every page to be accurate. If you spot a mistake, we would like to hear about it.

How to report an error

Email editors@insectsexplained.com with the page address, what you believe is wrong, and a source if you have one. Photos of an insect that does not match our description are welcome.

What happens next

We check the report against authoritative sources. If the page is wrong or misleading, we fix it and change the page’s updated date. Substantive corrections, those that change a fact, a safety statement or an identification, are also listed below with the date and a short description. Typos and broken links are fixed without a note.
